The Review:

Imagination School (Laurence Harwood) returns with a third album in 2011 entitled The Savage Coast. It continues much in the same style as the previous release (To The Level Of Light) but it has a more dreamy atmospheric “soundtrack“ vibe. The songs range from about 3 to 6 minutes, which in my opinion is perfect lengths for the content of this album.

This time around, the album is all instrumental and can be mentioned in the same sentence as bands like Karda Estra (from the UK), Nox Arcana (from the USA), Sigur Ros (from Iceland), and other similar acts. It truly soothes you without being bored or distracted.

If you enjoyed Imagination Schools releases up until the new album, The Savage Coast, then it’s an immediate must have for the serious music fan. It’s also one of those albums that grows on you as well as wanting to listen to the album all over. If that sounds like something you’d like, then I highly recommend getting this album ASAP!
