The Review:

The oddly named Skomm are a Swedish space rock/electronica band in the mold of Ozric Tentacles but with much more dynamics to the compositions. Their first album, Aztec Challenge, from 2000, was more in the techno/trance side of the space music genre, which I haven’t heard to make any comparisons.

The band first approached me through MySpace and then sent me their cd called ‘Promo 2006’. Some of these songs will be on a forthcoming album, perhaps in 2007. I must admit the music of Skomm was very hard to get into, mainly because I’m not well versed in the genre. I would however recommend those that enjoy bands like Ozric Tentacles and the like to seek out Skomm.
