The Review:

Your True Self is Star Queen’s second release seems to be a bit better sounding than their debut. Stella’s vocals are on par with most female vocalists in the power/progressive/goth metal genre. She gores from deep dark vocals to angelic operatic, sometimes within the same song. Two bands that Star Queen can be easily compared to are Nightwish and 80's metal icons Warlock, although I prefer the Nightwish comparison.

Your true Self took several listens to fully appreciate it’s beauty of the music, lyrics and vocals. This will defiantly be a reoccurring visitor to my CD player as well as their debut Faithbringer. With time Star Queen will only get better with each release and I look forward to hearing more of Stella, Thorbjorn, Peter and Mats.

This is one of the few releases from Lion Music that I can truly recommend. It’ also something very recommended to fans of the power/progressive/goth metal genre as well as the afore mentioned Nightwish and Warlock.
