The Review:

The Safenzee Diaries is Frogg Café's first ever official live release. It’s also the band’s 4th release and first for 10T Records. It’s a 2cd set that documents live dates from various shows including NEARfest, The NJ Proghouse, Orion Studios (in Baltimore) and Nectar's (in Burlington). The band also included some live-in the studio jams that are intertwined between concert tracks. Their music could be classified as a Jam band meets prog, rock and jazz. It’s primarily an instrumental band with some vocal tracks mixed in.

I really must admit that this really isn’t the style of music I tend to listen to but the overall feeling I get from this release is very good with very well played out songs that are executed flawlessly. I’m sure fans of Grateful Dead, Phish, Umphrey’s McGee and others will enjoy this. To those I would recommend picking this up especially if you’re new to the band. Either way this is a perfect addition to established fans as well as new ones curious about what Frogg Café' sounds like.
