The Review:

Formed in 2007, Redbazar is an instrumental based hard progressive rock/ fusion power trio from the UK. The band consist of Paul Comerie (Drums), Mick Wilson {Bass and Keyboards) and Andy Wilson (Guitars). In 2008 they released their 7 song debut album, Connections. Their sound ranges from melodic symphonic (as heard mostly on “Ride On A Wing” and “Fallen Tears”) to complex fusion on almost everything else. They remind me of something in between Red-era King Crimson and heavier moments of Spaced Out. Sometimes they tread into territories of what Ronnie Montrose was doing on his early solo albums, and the complex instrumental side of Steve Vai or even Joe Satriani.

Instrumental albums are usually hit or miss with me but I found from the moment I start the cd, I had to hear the rest of the album. I rarely do that especially on instrumental albums. There’s some guitar shredding to keep a person interested without repeating itself. If I had to choose, my favorite tracks are, “Regards To, “Bass Tardo“” and the title track, which closes the album in an epic way. Still not convinced yet? Well you really should take time and go over to their website to hear for yourself. Once you do, I have no doubt that you’ll have to go purchase the album ASAP!
